Anne Tyrrell is Chief Executive of the DN Colleges Group, which incorporates both North Lindsey College and Doncaster College, following a merger in November 2017. Prior to the merger, Anne was Principal and Chief Executive of North Lindsey College for five years, having worked in Further Education colleges for over 30 years in and around the Midlands and more recently as Deputy Principal at York College. While at York, among other things, Anne had responsibility for the delivery of their New College Project, which included a £60 million new build.
Anne began her teaching career in schools, originally on the south coast, near Brighton, before moving into Further Education teaching Fashion, Art and Design and History. She has continued to maintain her interest in Fashion and Fashion History, and has written books on Twentieth Century Fashion. Anne has a First Class B Ed (Honours) Degree and an MBA from the University of Warwick. She is married with two children, both now adults, and her husband is a primary school teacher and golf fanatic.
Anne is personally driven by the important role further and higher education plays in contributing to and supporting the future economic success of Scunthorpe and Doncaster and their surrounding areas. It is so rewarding to see the positive difference our Colleges can make to the lives of so many individuals.
