The Doncaster Chamber supports many local people into setting up their own business and/or finding employment.
Ambition Doncaster is the name of one of the contracts which the Doncaster Chamber delivers, along with its partners Business Doncaster, BSA Training and Job Centre Plus.
It is a programme that supports all people into self-employment, and young people (aged between 18-24 years) into employment:
• For the self-employment route: Doncaster Chamber has a bespoke business support programme available to those wishing to start a business. In the first instance you are invited to speak with a Business Advisor to find out what support is available to you. Included in the support available is access to an online Business Plan platform which guides candidates through every aspect of self-employment such as how to set up a business, market research, and competitor analysis etc.
In addition the Chamber hosts pre-start and post-start workshops to outline the necessary skills required to run a business.
Call us on 01302 640127 for more information and to book an appointment or complete our online form and we'll get back to you as soon as possible.
• For the employment route (18-24 years only): The Chamber works with local employers to identify job vacancies and conducts employment needs analysis with them to match vacancies with young people who have been on an intensive two week employability programme. The programme includes team working, communication, customer service, time management, confidence, CV writing, interview skills, problem solving, presentation skills, commercial awareness and social media.
If you are looking to hire new staff, contact us on 01302 640127 or complete our online form to find out more about how we could help identify a suitable candidate.
In addition to the support Doncaster Chamber can provide you, an e-learning course from HMRC can be accessed here which may help you with answers to questions about tax, National Insurance, business records and expenses. This course will build your confidence by guiding you through everything you need to know to get started. Other useful HMRC links can be found here.
