Racegoers are set to dazzle in purple, as Weston Park Cancer Charity’s Race Evening returns to Doncaster Racecourse.
Doncaster Racecourse and Weston Park Cancer Charity have joined forces to offer racegoers a thrilling combination of top-class racing and entertainment on Friday 1 June 2018.
Since launching the Race Evening in 2016, this unique event has raised in excess of £50,000 to create a better life for people, across the entire region, living with and beyond cancer. As the region’s only specialist cancer hospital, it provides care for thousands of patients across South Yorkshire, North Derbyshire and North Nottinghamshire.
Rebecca Burton, Commercial Manager at Doncaster Racecourse, said: “We are so excited to be working with Weston Park Cancer Charity on this wonderful event once again. Supporting good causes within our local community is extremely important to us and we know what a fantastic place Weston Park Hospital is. Racegoers will certainly be in for a treat on the day – there will be some great racing along with the opportunity to raise money for a really worthy charity.”
Money raised from the Race Evening will directly benefit local cancer patients through projects which provide practical help to those in need, emotional support to those in despair and enhanced care for those who need it most.
Darren Hayes, Business Development Manager at Weston Park Cancer Charity commented: “We are delighted to be working in partnership with Doncaster Racecourse again. The Race Evening has become a real highlight in the charity’s events calendar and we hope this year’s event will be even bigger and better than ever before.”
Fashionable racegoers are being encouraged to turn the racecourse purple by wearing their finest purple outfits for the Best Dressed competition, which give racegoers an opportunity to win some luxurious prizes.
Thanks to the generosity of Doncaster Racecourse, over 2,000 patients of Weston Park Hospital will be offered an opportunity to enjoy the thrill of flat racing on Town Moor free of charge. Meanwhile, Weston Park Cancer Charity has a limited number of heavily discounted County Stand tickets available at just £5 plus postage and packaging (usually priced £25).
