The Doncaster Chamber would like to congratulate all students who recently received their GCSE exam grades.
There have been many pleasing reports from across the borough on the successes of students and we wish them all the very best for their futures.
The Chamber and its partners will continue to work very closely with local schools and students through its ‘Doncaster Skills Academy’ to further support young people to be ready for the world of work and raise their awareness of the opportunities that are available to them with local businesses in the town.
The Chamber’s Skills Academy team are currently preparing for the new academic year and will be working with seventeen secondary schools from September 2015 to July 2016 on a variety of interventions to help support students to be work ready.
So far the Skills Academy has supported circa. 4,500 students in 8 Doncaster schools. As well as every Year 11 student (circa. 1,300) within the Borough receiving a leaflet that gives them information on what employers look for in a young person when recruiting.
