Heathrow lands in Doncaster to talk ‘expansion’ with Chamber members

Representatives from Heathrow Airport recently met with Chamber members, MPs and Mayor Ros Jones to discuss the benefits an expanded Heathrow airport would unlock in the region. They also visited potential logistics hubs in the area including Doncaster Sheffield Airport.

The four Logistics Hubs to be located around the UK will enable components of the Heathrow expansion to be pre-assembled by businesses nationwide before being transported in consolidated loads to the airport. This will enable all businesses located anywhere in the UK to form part of the airport’s supply chain, spread jobs and boost productivity outside of London and the South East.

The Heathrow expansion is set to deliver 11,200 new jobs and £12bn worth of wider economic benefits across Yorkshire and the Humber.

Doncaster Chamber will host the Heathrow Business Summit on 11 October 2018 to give Yorkshire SME businesses the chance to have free 15 minute face-to-face appointments with Heathrow’s supply chain in a one day event taking place at Doncaster Racecourse, 10:00-16:00, which includes a finger buffet lunch and refreshments for all guests.
