Doncaster Business Awards open for entry

The annual Doncaster Business Awards 2018 are open for entry.

This year the Chamber celebrates its twentieth year of Business Awards in the borough and looks forward to marking the occasion by showcasing some of the best businesses in the town.

All organisations with a DN postcode can enter any of the 12 award categories, including

Rising Star of the Year, Excellence in Customer Service, and Large Business of the Year.

Rebecca Nightingale, Membership & Events Executive, Doncaster Chamber said:

“Entry into the awards is a valuable business improvement process in itself for businesses.

The awards process is thorough, robust and fair, and includes a scoring handicap to level the playing field regardless of your business size.

Winning an award with us is truly meaningful and we look forward to a record breaking year!”

A practical morning workshop to help businesses maximise their chances of winning awards will take place on 11 July. The workshop, run by trainer Ben Hales, will teach attendees valuable skills in how to write engaging stories, identify key messages and learn ways to make an application stand out from the competition. All award winners will be announced at the Doncaster Business Awards ceremony on 13 December 2018, at the Doncaster Racecourse.  The awards will be hosted by Ben Hanlin, one of the UK's leading comedy magicians, best known as the star of the ITV2 hit show ‘Tricked’. An experienced presenter and broadcaster, Ben has also hosted his own show on Capital FM.

Sponsoring businesses including Doncaster College & University Centre and Business Doncaster will judge the finalists and present their respective category awards to the winners and runners-up.  There are some sponsorship packages still available to be involved with the UK’s largest Chamber network awards ceremony, which attracted over 930 guests last year.

Nominations are also being sought for the Lifetime Achievement Award.  Names of people who have made valuable contributions to Doncaster, its economy and people over a number of years can be sent to the Chamber to be considered at the discretion of the Board of Directors (deadline 6 August).

The Awards are open for entry until midday, Monday 10 September.
