The Sheffield City Region Combined Authority and Local Enterprise Partnership (SCR) have commissioned the design of a Careers Education, Information, Advice and Guidance Strategy for young people and adults.
The draft strategy sets out an offer for young people and adults that will help prepare people to enter, return or progress in the workplace.
Central to the strategy is a drive to secure employer leadership of the agenda, working in partnership with local, regional and national deliverers of education and training, and providers of career development support.
Karen O’Donoghue-Challis will lead this focus group to consult directly with employers about their role in developing the actual and potential workforce in the region.
Karen has previously led Careers Service and Education Business Partnership companies and was founding Chair and President of the UK wide careers sector professional body, the Career Development Institute. As well as working with SCR, she is also advising the Welsh Assembly government on careers service delivery in Wales. Karen has been voted one of the leading business women in Lancashire by both the Lancashire North & West and East Lancashire Chambers of Commerce.
