Sudanese Solidarity Organisation
The Sudanese Solidarity Organisation helps to bring together communities with local authorities and organisations to improve living conditions.
We promote the benefit of the communities of Sudan without distinction of sex, race or of political, religious or other opinions, by bringing together the people and the local authorities, voluntary and other organisations in a common effort to provide help and facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation and leisure-time occupation. Our aim is to improve the conditions of life for people.
We connect people and help them to deal with issues such as family reunion, family difficulties, and schooling. We give social support to the people of Sudan living in Doncaster as well as those living within Sudan providing them with a centre for social activities. We have collected donations of clothes, bags and shoes and used these to help people in need.
CWB provided advice and we attended their workshops. They guided us in the right direction and connected us with other organisations and start-ups to help us gain more experience and knowledge.
Our future aim is to keep doing what we’re doing in the best way that we can. Helping as many people as we can. Our advice to people thinking about starting a social enterprise is that you must believe in what you are doing and what you are trying to achieve, and don’t give up, because the work you do will make a difference in somebody's life.
