British Chambers of Commerce
Joining the Chamber makes you part of something much bigger, with us having strong ties to the local authority, South Yorkshire’s top education providers, government departments, and the Team Doncaster strategic partnership. Of course, another one of these valued partners is our very own umbrella body: the British Chambers of Commerce.
About The British Chambers of Commerce
Here in Doncaster, it is our role as your local Chamber to represent you, to campaign for your interests and to provide your business with the support it needs to truly prosper. After all, that is what your membership with us is all about.
However, we are ourselves part of a much larger network too. Alongside over 50 other accredited UK Chambers, we work under the banner of one umbrella body: the British Chambers of Commerce (BCC).
Described as a “great uniter of businesses”, the BCC helps firms of all different sizes to achieve more as a collective than they ever possibly could alone. It does this by ensuring that the priorities and concerns of its members are heard loud & clear in corridors of power and also by the media. Indeed, with powerful nationwide (and even overseas) influence, the network has access to the highest levels of Government and so can give businesses like yours an opportunity to drive meaningful change.
How They Work With Business
When pooled together, the BCC network represents over 50,000 businesses from all over the country (themselves employing around 6 million people).
These members of course have access to support right at their doorstep — courtesy of their respective Chamber — but they also benefit from being part of the wider BCC community too. Fighting in the corner of business, the British Chambers of Commerce connects firms up with exciting opportunities, helps them forge lasting relationships, and makes sure they are getting the advice and expertise they need.
In addition to that, the BCC is also a respected voice for the private sector, with its insights being regularly sought by policymakers and parliamentarians alike. By being part of the network, contributing to our various insight gathering activities (like the Quarterly Economic Survey) and generally using us to amplify your voice, you can feed into these important discussions and contribute to making the UK a more business-friendly environment.
