About Business Doncaster
Business Doncaster is the Economic Development delivery team for City of Doncaster Council (CDC).
They are responsible for things like: attracting new Inward Investment into Doncaster; working with the property sector to makes sure our city has the right conditions & sites available it needs to unlock its potential; key growth in those sectors that are outlined in the Doncaster Economic Strategy, as well as general Business Support to organisations of all shapes & sizes. The latter includes the administration of certain grants and the organisation of key events.
In addition to this, Business Doncaster is also responsible for growing and supporting the local visitor economy and tourism sectors, the commercialisation and support of the major economic centres, and the delivery of enterprise and employment services to support our residents into employment.
How They Work With Businesses
Business Doncaster works in partnership with a number of internal and external organisations. Among others, these include Doncaster Chamber of Commerce, the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB), Property Developers and Agents, Colleges and Universities, Recruitment Agencies and the South Yorkshire Combined Mayoral Authority (SYMCA).
In terms of how they work with individual businesses, however, they offer the following services:
- Specialist support to Doncaster companies of all shapes & sizes
- A key account management programme to our borough's large employers
- Maintenance of an impartial commercial property database, for businesses that are looking for new premises
- Business engagement and supply chain support to local companies
- Joined up and effective signposting into national, regional and sub-regional sources of business support
- The Launchpad start up programme (which provides diagnostic and business advice to new start-ups)
- The Employment Hub (which supports residents into workand training)
- The Advance programme (which supports employee upskilling).
